Leadership York Applications available |

Applications for the 2010-11 Class of LEADERSHIP YORK is now available! Each year 15-20 adults go through a fun and educational 9-month program that gives participants leadership skills. Once a month the selected group will learn about various aspects of life in York including a joint program with Hastings and Grand Island classes to learn about the Legislative process in Lincoln. Even those who have lived in York for many years felt the experience was well worth it, “I’ve lived in York for many years and still learned a lot about the area. I am amazed at the variety of programs and projects going on all the time here in York. I recommend Leadership York to anyone—regardless of how long you’ve lived here”, said Bob Sautter of the York County Visitors Bureau, Class of 2010. Cindy Klein of NPPD, also a member of the Class of 2010 said this: “I would highly recommend this program when asked by your employer if you would like to participate. It was a great experience. Meeting people in the community and learning more about York. There were places that we visited and tours that we took that were wonderful. Along with the many speakers that took time to come in a talk. It was a great experience and I want to thank my employer for giving me the opportunity and the Leadership York Board for all that they do in putting this together”.
You can be a part of LEADERSHIP YORK by filling out the attached application and submitting it to The York Area Chamber of Commerce. Applicants will be reviewed and selected by mid-August. On behalf of the 300+ members of the York Area Chamber of Commerce in York Nebraska, I want to thank you for visiting our website. The 2010 YORK Farmers' Market is returning on JUNE 3. The market will feature handmade, homemade and homegrown products from area producers. It is held each Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm on the grounds of York's Courthouse located between Lincoln and Grant Avenues along 6th street in beautiful downtown York. We are accepting Vendor registration now. You can download Vendor information and registration form by clicking here or by stopping at the Chamber office. We will once again offer prizes donated by our vendors each night of the market and Jim Sprague will once again be on hand to entertain you while you shop. We will also be printing a new VENDOR GUIDE that will be available to the public listing all our vendors, their items and contact information.
